                               EXECUTIVE ORDER D—126—40

Relating to Exemptions Under Section 27156
                                    of the California Vehicle Code

                                  General Motors LLC
Performance Air Intake Kit, Part Number 84016022

Pursuant to the authority vested in the Air Resources Board by Section 27156 of the
Vehicle Code; and

Pursuant to the authority vested in the undersigned by Section 39515 and Section 39516 of
the Health and Safety Code and Executive Order G—14—012;

IT IS ORDERED AND RESOLVED: That the installation of the Performance Air Intake Kit,
manufactured and marketed by General Motors LLC, 3300 General Motors Road, Milford,
Michigan 48380, has been found not to reduce the effectiveness of the applicable vehicle
pollution control systems and, therefore, is exempt from the prohibitions of Section 27156
of the Vehicle Code for 2014 to 2016 model year 5.3L General Motors pickups and SUVs.

The Performance Air Intake Kit, Part No. 84016022, is designed to replace the stock air
filter box and intake tubing with a new closed element air filter box designed with a
conical air filter and a clear top cover. The new air intake tube is designed to connect the
new air box to the throttle body. Stock mass air flow sensor is installed in the new air
intake tube. A new PCV line is included using stock connectors. No other changes are
required for proper installation. Installation of the Air Intake System requires the
removal of the stock air filter housing. If the stock air filter housing contains the
vehicle‘s tune—up & emissions control decal, a replacement decal must be placed
in a similar location.

This Executive Order is valid provided that the installation instructions for the Performance
Air Intake Kit will not recommend tuning the vehicle to specifications different from those of
General Motors LLC.

Changes made to the design or operating conditions of the Performance Air Intake Kit, as
exempt by the Air Resources Board, which adversely affect the performance of the
vehicle‘s pollution control system shall invalidate this Executive Order.

The Air Resources Board reserves the right in the future to review this Executive Order and
the exemption provided herein to assure that the exempted add—on or modified part
continues to meet the standards and procedures of Title 13, California Code of
Regulations, Section 2222, et seq.

This Executive Order is granted based on submitted emissions test data generated on one
test vehicle modified with the Performance Air Intake Kit. Test results showed that
emission levels, with the Performance Air Intake Kit installed, met the applicable emission
standards when tested using the Cold—Start CVS—75 Federal Test Procedure (FTP) test
cycle and the Supplemental Federal Test Procedure (SFTP USO6) test cycle. Examination
of the OBD II system showed that the Performance Air Intake Kit did not affect OBD II
system operation. Results from emissions testing conducted at the General Motor Proving
Ground located in Milford, Michigan, are shown below, in grams per mile, with deterioration
factors (df) applied to Cold—Start CVS—75 Federal Test Procedure modified test results.
