IT IS ORDERED AND RESOLVED: That the installation of the HotWires manufactured and
marketed by Nology Engineering, Inc. of 1945 S. Rancho Santa Fe Road, San Marcos,
California 92069 has been found not to reduce the effectiveness of required motor vehicle
pollution control devices and, therefore, is exempt from the prohibitions of Section 27156 of
the California Vehicle Code for installation on 2004 and older model—year vehicles equipped
with spark ignited engines.

Changes to the factory emission control systems are limited to replacing the original
equipment manufacturer (OEM) spark plug wires with Nology Engineering, Inc.‘s HotWires.

This Executive Order shall not apply to any Nology Engineering, Inc. HotWires advertised,
offered for sale, sold with, or installed on a new motor vehicle prior to or concurrent with

not recommend tuning the vehicle to specifications different from those submitted by the

Resources Board (ARB), that adversely affect the performance of a vehicle‘s pollution control
system shall invalidate this Executive Order.

that the HotWires meet the requirements of compliance criteria for ignition system
components as specified under the "Procedures for Exemption of Add—On and Modified *
Parts" and therefore, will not increase emissions. This Executive Order is also based on
previous On—Board Diagnostic II (OBD II) testing. Testing showed that the HotWires when
installed on the vehicle did not affect the vehicle‘s ability to perform its OBD II monitoring.
