1983 to 1991 model year Volkswagen Vanagons | The Eurospec Vanagon Engine Conversion Kit is designed to provide all the necessary parts to replace the stock 1983 to 1991 model year VW Vanagon engine with a new 2.0 liter VW factory engine. The kit includes the following parts: A complete 1993 to 1995 model year Golf/Jetta 2.0 liter VW engine modified with a late model Audi 80 cylinder head, adaptor plate and hardware to mount the engine to the stock transmission and frame, intake air ducting with an open element air filter, Golf/Jetta throttle body, Golf/Jetta electronic control unit (ECU), heated oxygen sensor located in the collector, cast iron exhaust manifold, and two VW Golf/Jetta factory pre-catalytic converters and one VW Golf/Jetta factory main catalytic converter. The new engine must interface with the stock Vanagon's evaporative emissions control system. Diesel Vanagon conversions must upgrade their evaporative emissions control system to that of a gasoline Vanagon. On Vanagons that are not equipped with a check engine light on the dash, a light must be installed and wired to the new ECU. |
