Supplemental Federal Test Procedure (USO6), and an examination of the On—Board
Diagnostic |I (OBD I11) system. A 2004 Mercedes Benz SL600 (4MBXVO5.5LXY, ULEV,
PC) was used for the evaluation of the Brabus 6.3 Liter Engine Upgrade. Results from
emissions testing conducted at The Automobile Club of Southern California are shown
below (in grams per mile):

FTP 50k NMOG CO NOx HCHO
                 Emission Level 0.030 0.599 0.028 0.00086
                 (w. DF applied)
                        STD 0.040 1.7 0.2 0.008

                      100k NMOG CO NOx HCHO
                 Emission Level 0.030 0.599 0.036 0.00126
                 (w. DF applied)
                       STD 0.055 2.1 0.3 0.011

      USO6 NMHC + NOx CO
                 Measured 0.076 0.063
                 Standard 0.14 8.0

The emission test results in the modified configuration were below the applicable
certification standards. Examination of the OBD I! system showed the Brabus 6.3 Liter
Engine Upgrade does not affect OBD II operation. Therefore, based on the test results, ©
the staff concludes that the Brabus 6.3 Liter Engine Upgrade meets the criteria for
exempting general criteria parts.

exemption provided herein to assure that the exempted add—on or modified part

ARB with reason to suspect that the Brabus 6.3 Liter Engine Upgrade will affect the
durability of emission control systems, Brabus North America, Inc., shall be required to
submit durability data to show that the durability of vehicle emission control systems are
not, in fact, affected and/or that the add—on or modified part demonstrates adequate
