AIR RESOURCES BOARD EXECUTIVE ORDER D—215—39 Relating to Exemptions Under Section 27156 of the Vehicle Codé EDELBROCK CORPORATION PERFORMER MULTI—POINT ELECTRONIC FUEL INJECTION CONVERSION KIT Pursuant to the authority vested in the Air Resources Board b)% Section 27156 of the Vehicle Code; and Pursuant to the authority vested in the undersigned by Section{39515 and Section 39516 of the Health and Safety Code and Executive Order G—45—9; ' IT.IS ORDERED AND RESOLVED: That the installation of the Performer Multi—Point Electronic Fuel Injection Conversion Kit, manufactured and marketed by the Edelbrock Corporation, 2700 California Street, Torrance, California 90509—2936 has been found not to‘reduce the effectiveness of the applicable vehicle pollution control system and, therefore, is exempt from the prohibitions of Section 27156 of the Vehicle Code for 1987—95 vehicles originally equipped with a General Motors 5.7 or 7.4 liter throttle bady injected engine or 1987—95 vehicles originally equippedatith a General Motors 7.4 liter throttle body injected engine and now use the General Motors 8.2 liter replacement long block engine, Executive Order D—126—3. Part No. Model—Year Enginel Displacement 3501 1993—95 5.TL 3501 1991—95 5.7L Heavy—Duty 3502 1987—92 ‘ 5.7L 3562 1987—90 7AL 3563 , 1991—95 7AL 3564 1987—90 82L 3565 1991—95 $.2L I The Performer Multi—Point Electronic Fuel Injection Conversibn Kit includes the following main components: Intake manifold, EPROM, fuel rails, fuel regulator, fuel pump, 8 Magnetti Marelli Pico infectors, and all the necessary hardware and electrical componlnents for proper installation. 1 This Executive Order is granted based on submitted emissionstest data on a 1994 GM C1500 truck equipped with the 5.7L engine. Test results showed that tailpipe emissions with the fuel injection conversion kit installed on the vehicle met the vehicle‘s applicable emission standard during a Cold Start CVS—75 Federal Test Procedure. This Executive Order is valid provided that the installation instructions for the fuel injection Kit will not recommend tuning the vehicle to specifications different from{those of the vehicle manufacturer. Changes made to the design or operating conditions ofthe fuel injection kit, as exempt by the Air Resources Board, which adversely affect the performance of tfi’le vehicle‘s pollution control system shall invalidate this Executive Order. | Marketing of the fuel injection kit using any identification other than that shownin this Executive Order or marketing ofthe fuel injection kit for an application other than those listed in this Executive Order shall be prohibited unless prior approval is obtained from the Air Resources Board.
