State of California AIR RESOURCES BOARD EXECUTIVE ORDER D—245416 Relating to Exem'pt'ion's under Section 27156 of the Vehicle Code— ~ BBK Performance _ Shorty Headers Pursuant to theauthonty vestedin the Air Resources Board (ARB) by Sectron 27156 of the Vehicle Code (VC); and Pursuant to the authority vested in the undersigned by. Sections39515 and 39516 of the Health and Safety Code and Executlve Order G—14—012; ' IT IS ORDERED AND RESOLVED That installation ofthe Shorty Headers, manufactured by BBK Performance, 27440 Bostik Court, Temecula, California 92590, has been found not to reduce the effectiveness ofthe appllcable vehicle pollution controlsystems, and therefore, the Shorty Headers are exempt from the prohibitions in VCSection 27156 for lnstallatlon on the foIIowrngvehlcles appllcatlons hstedin Exhlblt A. ' The headers are a shorty style header deS|gn manufactured out of 14 gage mild steel or 18 gage stainless steel. The oxygen sensor is retained in the stock—lotation at a collector. ~The headers may include a connectlng Y-plpe thatis also manufacturedoutof 14 gage mild steel or 16 gage stainless steel.— S e e i. . Changes made to the design or operating conditions ofthe Shorty Headers as exempt by . the Air Resources Board wh|ch adversely affect the performance of the vehlcles pollution control system_ shall invalidate this Executrve Order — The Air Resources Board reserves the right in the future to review this Executive Order and the exemption provided herein to assure that the exempted add—on or modified part continues to meet the standards and procedures of Title 13, California Code of ‘ Regulations, Section 2222, et seq. . This Executive Order is granted based on submitted emission test data generated ona. 2012 model year Ford Mustang, equippedwith a 3.7L engine and modified with the Shorty Headers. Test results showed that emission levels, with the Shorty Headers installed, met the applicable emission standards when tested using the Cold—Start CVS—75 Federal Test Procedure (FTP) test cycle and the Supplemental Federal Test Procedure (SFTP USO6) test cycle. Examination of the OBD II system showed that the Shorty Headers did not affect OBD II system operation. Results from emissions testing conducted at Quantum

Technologies, located at Lake Forest, California, are shown below, in grams per mile, with deterioration factors (df) applied. Marketing of the Shorty Headers using any identification other than that shown in this Executive Order or marketing of the Shorty Headers for an application other than those listed in this Executive Order shall be prohibited unless prior approvalis obtained from the Air Resources Board. No claim of any kind, such as "Approved by the Air Resources Board", may be made with respect to the action taken herein in any advertising or other oral or written communication. This Executive Order shall not apply to any Shorty Headers advertised, offered for sale, sold with, or installed on a new motor vehicle prior to or concurrent with transfer to an ultimate purchaser. Violation of any of the above conditions shall be grounds for revocation of this order. The order may be revoked only after a ten—day written notice of intention to revoke the order, in which period the holder of the order may request in writing a hearing to contest the proposed revocation. —If a hearing is requested, it shall be held within ten days of receipt of the request and the order may not be revoked until a determination is madeafter the hearmg that grounds for revocation exist.
