State of California AIR RESQURCES BOARD EXECUTIVE ORDER D—153—1 Rescinding of Exemption under Section 27156 of the Vehicle Code EMISSION PARTS SUPPLY Pursuant to the authority vested in the Air Resources Board by Section 27156 of the Vehicle Code; and Pursuant to the authority vested in the undersigned by Sections 39515 and 39516 of the Health and Safety Code and Executive Order G—45—5; WHEREAS, upon further evaluation of the Universal Neck Insert Kit (UNIK) manufactured by Emission Parts Supply, it has been determined that the UNIK g§¥;ce does not meet the durability requirements under Vehicle Code Section 6. WHEREAS, Emission Parts Supply informed the Air Resources Board in November éQ?S, that the UNIK device was defective and would not be offered for sale in alifornia. IT IS ORDERED AND RESQOLYED: That the installation of the Universal Neck Insert Kit (UNIK) manufactured by Emission Parts Supply has been found to reduce the effectiveness of required motor vehicle pollution control devices and, therefore, is not exempt from the prohibitions of Section 27156 of the Vehicle Code for repairing damaged or missing fuel fill pipe restrictors on vehicles certified for unleaded gasoline only. FURTHERMORE, IT IS ORDERED AND RESOLVED: That Executive Order D—153, issued on March 15, 1985, which exempted the UNIK device, manufactured by Emission Parts Supply, is hereby rescinded and of no further force and effect.
